THE FIRST IS THE SOQ TO STUDY.
THE PARISH HAS RECEIVED RESPONSES.
THE EVALUATION COMMITTEE IS MEETING ON JUNE 10TH TO REVIEW THE, UM, CONSULTANTS WHO SUBMITTED FOR THAT.
THE TIMELINE FOR THAT IS IT COULD POSSIBLY MAKE A SELECTION AND BE ON THE JUNE 18TH COUNCIL AGENDA, AT WHICH POINT THEY'LL HAVE TO ACTUALLY NEGOTIATE A SCOPE AND A CONTRACT.
SO WE DON'T EXPECT THAT CONSULTANT TO BE IN PLACE AND START WORKING ANY EARLIER THAN LATE JULY.
AS FAR AS THE RFP FOR THE UDC REWRITE, UH, THAT ADVERTISEMENT CLOSES TOMORROW, UM, AT WHICH POINT THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT AND THE EVALUATION COMMITTEE WILL RECEIVE THOSE COPIES OF THE CONSULTANTS' PROPOSALS, UM, AND BEGIN THAT PROCESS, INCLUDING, I THINK AS WE MENTIONED AT THE LAST MEETING IN INTERVIEW ROUND WITH THE TOP SCORING.

IT'S A SYSTEM CALLED MGO, WHICH SOME OF YOU WHO HAVE WORKED WITH THE PARISH A LONG TIME WAS FORMALLY CALLED MPN MY PERMIT NOW.
UM, IT HAS NOW MORPHED INTO MGO, WHICH STANDS FOR MY GOVERNMENT ONLINE WITH US TODAY, WE ACTUALLY HAVE TWO STAFF PEOPLE FROM MGO, UM, RYAN HUTCHINSON AND KEN, AND I'M GOING BLANK ON KEN'S LAST NAME, JENKINS.
UM, AND SO THEY'RE GONNA TALK A LITTLE LATER IN THE MORNING ABOUT WHERE JEFFERSON PARISH CAN GO NEXT WITH THIS SOFTWARE.
BUT I ALSO WANTED TO PROVIDE YOU ALL WITH A LITTLE BIT OF WHY WE USE THIS PARTICULAR SOFTWARE.
WE'VE BEEN USING THIS SOFTWARE SINCE 2013, 2014.
UM, AND THIS IS A SYSTEM THAT IS A LOUISIANA GROWN SYSTEM.
SOUTH CENTRAL PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION IS A POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THE STATE.
THOSE OF YOU WHO MAYBE HAVE WORKED WITH THE REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION HERE IN THE NEW ORLEANS AREA, SOUTH CENTRAL PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT CONDITION IS THE EQUIVALENT OF RRPC FOR THAT MID-SOUTH LOUISIANA TERRITORY.
SO THEY ARE A POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THE STATE OF LOUISIANA, AND THEY WENT INTO ESSENTIALLY THE BUSINESS OF HELPING SMALLER JURISDICTIONS IN THEIR AREA WITH PERMITTING.
AND IN DOING SO, THEY DEVELOPED THIS PERMITTING SOFTWARE SYSTEM.
OTHER COMMUNITIES IN OUR REGION WERE STARTING TO USE THE SYSTEM AS WELL.
AND SO THE HOME VILLAGE ASSOCIATION, UM, WERE ACTUALLY THE ONES WHO REALLY ADVOCATED FOR JEFFERSON PARISH TO MOVE INTO THIS SYSTEM BECAUSE ONE OF THE BENEFITS IS FOR LOCAL REGIONAL DEVELOPERS.
ALL OF THEIR PERMITS ARE ALL IN ONE CENTRALIZED SYSTEM, AND THEY JUST SWITCHED THROUGH JURISDICTIONS.
SO WE HAVE BEEN A JURISDICTION FOR THEM, AS I SAID, SINCE 20 13, 20 14.
UM, AND SO WE ARE CURRENTLY ON WHAT THEY CALL THE LEGACY SYSTEM FOR OUR PERMITTING.
THAT IS ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE NEED TO CHANGE.
IN 2022, THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT MOVED TO THE PLANNING AND ZONING MODULE.
AND SO RIGHT NOW, BOTH THE BUILDING PERMITS DEPARTMENT, ALL AFFILIATED PERMITS AND THE PLANNING APPLICATIONS ARE ALL MANAGED ONLINE THROUGH THE SAME SOFTWARE SYSTEM.
INSTEAD OF HAVING TO HAVE SEPARATE PERMITTING SYSTEMS FOR THE TWO DEPARTMENTS, WHICH, AS WE KNOW OFTEN HAVE A LOT OF OVERLAP.
ONE OF THE OTHER BENEFITS OF SOUTH CENTRAL PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT BEING LOCAL, IS THAT THEY'RE LITERALLY JUST DOWN THE ROAD IN HOA.
AND SO IT'S VERY EASY FOR THEM TO COME HERE AND BE WITH US TODAY, UM, IS VERY EASY IF WE NEED TO GO THERE FOR ANY REASON.
THEY HOLD AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE WHERE THEY ROLL OUT ALL OF THEIR NEW PRODUCTS, AND THAT CONFERENCE IS HELD EITHER IN JEFFERSON OR IN THE CITY OF NEW ORLEANS, UM, AND PEOPLE FROM ALL OF THE JURISDICTIONS THAT THEY WORK IN, WHICH IS ACROSS THE COUNTRY NOW.

SO THE ADMINISTRATION WAS VERY SUPPORTIVE OF US CREATING A POSITION WHOSE ONE JOB IN JEFFERSON PARISH IS MGO.
