[Vintage Drive Multi-Use Path Ribbon Cutting]
[00:00:04]
WE ARE ON THE CORNER OF VINTAGE IN WILSON, AND TODAY IS THE RIBBON CUTTING FOR THE VINTAGE TRAIL THAT WE JUST OPENED.
IT'S A BEAUTIFUL TRAIL, UH, ONE AND A HALF MILLION DOLLARS APPROXIMATELY, PRIMARILY, UH, FUNDED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, BUT, UM, BUT SOME LOCAL MATCHING.
THIS TRAIL IS SUPER IMPORTANT TO MY DISTRICT IN PARTICULAR BECAUSE ULTIMATELY IT WILL CONNECT BUCK BUCKTOWN TO LAKE TOWN.
IT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL, IT'S LANDSCAPED NICELY, AND THE LIGHTING IS, IS GORGEOUS.
SO WE'RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT IT.
THIS PROJECT WILL BENEFIT A LOT OF KEN RESIDENTS.
IT'LL TIE IN OUR MULTI-USE PATH THAT'S BEING FINISHED IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS.
ONCE THIS IS ALL CONNECTED, YOU'LL BE ABLE TO START FROM HERE AND PRETTY MUCH EITHER RIDE A BIKE RUN OR WALK TO THE BUCKTOWN AREA IN JEFFERSON PARISH.
JUST STANDING OUT HERE THIS MORNING, YOU CAN SEE PEOPLE WALKING FROM THE END OF THEIR STREET, WALKING THEIR DOGS ON THE PATH, UM, WALKING THEIR KIDS IN STROLLERS.
UM, IT'S A GREAT WAY TO, TO CONNECT THE COMMUNITIES, UM, BECAUSE KETER KENTER AND ME IN PARTICULAR ARE SISTER CITIES, UH, AND THERE'S A LOT OF OVERLAP, UH, DOWN INDIVIDUAL STREETS EVEN.
SO FOR OUR COMMUNITY IN PARTICULAR, THIS IS SUPER IMPORTANT.
IT'S A GREAT WAY TO CONNECT US.
THIS IS A GREAT PATH FOR ALL AGES, ACTUALLY, AND, AND ALL ABILITIES.
UM, IT'S COMPLETELY ACCESSIBLE.
UH, YOU CAN WALK FROM YOUR HOME, WHICH IS GREAT FOR OUR ELDERLY COMMUNITY, BUT ALSO PEOPLE WITH YOUNG CHILDREN.
IT'S GONNA BE VERY ATTRACTIVE FOR THEM.
THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL HOMES IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD.
IT'S CENTRALLY LOCATED AND FOR YOUNG FAMILIES, I'M HOPING IT'LL BE A HUGE ATTRACTOR.
