ONE,

[00:00:01]

TWO, AND THREE.

[Fat City Murals]

TODAY WE'RE HERE TO CELEBRATE A PARTNERSHIP THAT HAS BROUGHT BEAUTIFUL ARTISTIC PANELS THAT WE ARE ADDING TO THE OTHERS.

UH, ALONG THIS ENTER DEFENSE LINE, MEASURING MORE THAN 100 LINEAR FEET.

THE TWO NEW SECTIONS OF MURALS WERE DESIGNED AND PAINTED BY NATIONAL ARTS, HONOR SOCIETY AND ART CLUB STUDENTS FROM BOTH ARCHBISHOP CHAPPELLE HIGH SCHOOL AND ARCHBISHOP GRUEL HIGH SCHOOL.

IT WAS A CHANCE FOR THESE GIRLS TO PUT THEIR SKILLS TO USE FOR THE BENEFIT OF OUR COMMUNITY AND THESE, UH, PANELS THAT WE DESIGNED.

WE WANTED THEM TO REPRESENT THE DIVERSITY OF OUR, UH, FLORA AND FAUNA, OUR LOCAL WILDLIFE, THE VIBRANCY OF OUR TOWN AND OUR CELEBRATORY TRADITIONS.

SO WE STARTED OUR PANELS IN WITH THE SUNRISE OVER LAKE PONTCHARTRAIN AND THEN THE NATURAL WILDLIFE.

THESE ANIMALS ARE TRAVELING TO A MARDI GRAS PARADE HERE ALONG WEST ESPLANADE AND VERNE.

WE MADE SURE WE HAD STREET SIGNS VISIBLE.

THEN WE HAVE, UM, SOME OF THE SILHOUETTES OF SOME OF THE ICONIC BUILDINGS HERE IN FAT CITY IN THE BACKGROUND.

AFTER THE PARADES, THE ANIMALS END UP AT A MOONLIGHT PICNIC IN LAIER PARK.

BEING ABLE TO CREATE SOMETHING THAT SHOWCASED OUR TALENT, OUR STUDENTS' TALENT, THEIR HARD WORK, AND ALSO REFLECTED THE LIFE OF OTHER INDIVIDUALS IN THIS CITY, WAS A REALLY GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR US.

OUR MURAL WAS INTENDED TO SHOW THE LIFE OF SOMEONE THROUGHOUT A TYPICAL DAY IN FAT CITY.

SO IT STARTS WITH AN INTERSECTION, AND FROM THERE YOU'RE WALKING DOWN A STREET, YOU'RE LOOKING AT BUSINESS FRONTS.

YOU GET TO SEE THE DIFFERENT CUISINE.

YOU GET TO SEE THE INTERIOR OF AN, OF A RESTAURANT, AND THEN IT ENDS AT ANOTHER INTERSECTION.

EVERY TIME YOU DRIVE PAST THIS, YOU'RE GONNA BE A PART OF THIS.

FROM HERE ON OUT, YOU'LL BE ABLE TO SAY, I DREW THIS, OR I DID THIS, OR, I WAS A PART OF THIS.

I'M JUST KIND OF PROUD OF MYSELF, BUT I'M ALSO PROUD OF LIKE THE PEOPLE THAT I WAS ABLE TO COLLABORATE WITH BECAUSE IT'S JUST LIKE I MADE SO MANY MEMORIES JUST WORKING ON THESE PIECES ALONE.

I NEVER WOULD'VE THOUGHT THAT LIKE I WOULD ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO HAVE A PIECE THAT STAYS HERE FOR LIKE 10 OR 10 MORE YEARS.

I PERSONALLY AM REALLY APPRECIATIVE THAT WE ARE ABLE TO PUT OURSELVES INTO THIS MURAL, AND WE ARE JUST ABLE TO HAVE IT DISPLAYED RIGHT HERE, AND IT DRAWS ATTENTION TO EVERYBODY WHO DRIVES BY.

I'M SO HAPPY THAT WE GOT TO BE A PART OF THIS.

IT WAS SO MUCH FUN TO DO.

I LOVE IT.

I I WOULDN'T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY.
