SAY.[Lost in the Line of Duty ]
BY THE LIGHT WHAT'S SO PROUDLY? WE AT THE TWILIGHT LAST WHOSE BROAD STRIPES AND BRIGHT SAUCE THROUGH THE OR THE RAMP PARTS WE WATCHED WERE SO THE ROCK.DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER, WE THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO GATHER HERE TODAY TO HONOR THESE WHO HAVE GIVEN SO MUCH WHO HAVE MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE.
TODAY'S A VERY IMPORTANT DAY FOR US IN JEFFERSON PARISH.
TODAY'S THE DAY WHERE WE HONOR AND REMEMBER TWO MEN WHO DECIDED TO SERVE THEIR COMMUNITY IN THE MOST BASIC WAY, IN THE MOST SIMPLE WAY, IN THE MOST COMPLICATED WAY, AND IN THE MOST DANGEROUS WAY.
OF COURSE, THEY MUST BE FEARLESS OR OVERCOME THE FEAR TO DO THEIR JOB THAT THEY'RE CALLED TO DO.
BUT BEFORE ALL OF THAT, WHAT THEY ARE FIRST, THE VERY FIRST IS SELFLESS.
OUR LAST CONVERSATION WAS OF PERSONAL NATURE AS OPPOSED TO WORK, AND WE LAUGHED LOUDLY AND DEEPLY THAT DAY.
THE LAST 25 DAYS OF STEVE'S LIFE WERE INCREDIBLY HARD TO WATCH, BUT I'LL TREASURE EVERY ONE OF THEM.
HE HAD THE HEART OF A LION, AND THAT WAS NEVER MORE CLEAR THAN IT WAS DURING THOSE FINAL 25 DAYS.
WE LOST AN ABSOLUTE GENTLEMAN AND A WARRIOR.
IN EVERY REGARD, THE WORLD WOULD BE A MUCH BETTER PLACE IF EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US COULD BE JUST A LITTLE MORE LIKE STEVEN.
DEREK WAS A PROFESSIONAL AND A HERO THAT WE'VE LOST THAT PUT EVERYTHING INTO HIS CAREER AND EVERYTHING INTO HIS ABILITIES TO BE WHAT HE WAS FOR US, A TRUE HERO.
ERIC WAS ALWAYS KNOWN FOR HIS OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONALISM, HIS UNWAVERING DEDICATION TO PUBLIC SERVICE.
ERIC HAD A PROFOUND LOVE FOR THE FIRE SERVICE AND HAS ALWAYS STRIVE TO BETTER HIMSELF AND OTHERS AROUND HIM.
HE'S SERVED TRUE FOR HIS OATH OF OFFICE AND WORKED EXHAUSTIVELY TO PROMOTE PUBLIC SAFETY AND EDUCATION OUTREACH TO THE CITIZENS OF JEFFERSON PARISH.
HEAVENLY FATHER, WE THANK YOU, GOD FOR EACH PERSON ON THESE WALLS TODAY.
LORD, WE REMEMBER CHIEF ERIC BACON AND DETECTIVE STEVEN ARNOLD WHO GAVE THEIR ALL.
