EXCITED BECAUSE OUR COMMITMENT CAN BE SEEN[Kennedy Heights Tennis Court Ribbon Cutting]
BY ALL IN THIS COMMUNITY.WE SPENT $407,000 TO BUILD THIS NEW TENNIS COURT THAT WE KNOW WILL BE USED VERY MUCH FOR THOSE WHO PLAY TENNIS IN THIS COMMUNITY, BUT ALSO WE EXPANDED THE PARKING LOT, SOMETHING THAT THEY NEED IT VERY, VERY MUCH CONSIDERING THAT THIS IS A BUSY PARK.
IN ADDITION, WE HAVE NEW LIGHTING, L A D LIGHTING.
EVERYTHING IS ILLUMINATED WELL.
SO WE WILL HAVE, UH, A WONDERFUL PLACE FOR PEOPLE TO FEEL COMFORTABLE AND SAFE AT NIGHT, E UH, AT NIGHT WHEN THEY'RE PLAYING TENNIS.
WE'VE ALSO ADDED NEW BENCHES AS WELL AS A SCREEN AROUND, UH, AROUND, UH, THIS TENNIS COURT.
AND, UH, WE ALSO HAVE ADDED ADA PARKING SPOTS AS WELL.
WE'VE DONE EVERYTHING THAT WE COULD TO MODERNIZE THIS WHILE MAKING, UH, THIS CAPITAL INVESTMENT HERE ON THIS PROPERTY IF WE'RE NOT FOCUSED ON OUR YOUTH AND THE FUTURE OF JEFFERSON PARISH AND WE'RE NOT FOCUSED ON THE RIGHT THINGS.
SO IT'S IMPORTANT FOR US TO, UH, ALL BE ALIGNED IN THAT VISION AND DO WHAT WE NEED TO DO TO MAKE SURE OUR YOUTH IN JEFFERSON PARISH HAVE NOT ONLY WONDERFUL PLAYGROUNDS TO COME TO, BUT HAVE OTHER WONDERFUL INFRASTRUCTURE AROUND THEM.
I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN I SAW THIS GOING ON BECAUSE IT GIVES LIFE TO A COMMUNITY.
IT GIVES NEW DIRECTION TO CHILDREN.
WE GOT TO FIND WAYS TO GET TENNIS RACKET, TENNIS BALL INTO THE HAND, AND I'M SURE ONCE THEY GET THAT, THEY'LL COME OUT AND START TO DEVELOP INTO THE OUGHT, THE ASHES AND VENUS AND SERENA WILLIAMS THAT WE KNOW IS IN OUR COMMUNITY.
WE WILL ALLOW FOR MORE PEOPLE WHOM HAVE AN INTEREST IN LEARNING HOW TO PLAY THIS SPORT, THAT THEY WILL SHOW UP AND THEY WILL COME AND ENJOY THEMSELVES.
