PUBLIC NOTICE December 5, 2020 Election The Jefferson Parish Council intends to vote on a resolution to authorize the calling of a special election for the levy and collection of a special tax in the Parish of Jefferson, State of Louisiana, specifically: Plantation Estates Subdivision Special District Shall Plantation Estates Subdivision Special District, Parish of Jefferson, State of Louisiana (the “District”) be authorized to levy and collect an annual security enhancement tax, beginning in the year 2021, in the amount of $500 in each of the years 2021 to 2024, inclusive; in the amount of $575 in each of the years 2025 to 2028, inclusive; and in the amount of $625 in each of the years 2029 to 2030, inclusive, against each parcel of improved immovable property listed and/or assessed on the tax rolls of the Parish of Jefferson and located in the District, with the estimated amount reasonably expected to be collected from the levy of the tax for one year being $208,000, for the purpose of purchasing, acquiring, constructing and improving, or leasing, maintaining and operating machinery and equipment and other facilities to be used, and paying other expenses incurred and/or contracting for services to be rendered in connection with providing security enhancement services for the District? The Jefferson Parish Council will vote on this resolution at the Jefferson Parish Council meeting to be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, General Government Building, Gretna, Louisiana, unless held virtually. The tentative date for this election is Saturday, December 5, 2020.
