PUBLIC NOTICE The Jefferson Parish Council intends to vote on resolutions to authorize the calling of special elections for the renewal of special taxes in the Parish of Jefferson, State of Louisiana, specifically: Fire Protection District No. 6 Shall Fire Protection District No. 6 of the Parish of Jefferson, State of Louisiana (the “District") be authorized to renew the levy and collection of a tax not to exceed twenty-five (25) mills on all property subject to taxation in the District for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2020, with the estimated amount reasonably expected to be collected from the levy of the tax for one year being $4,781,088, for the purposes of acquiring, constructing, improving, providing, maintaining and operating the District’s fire protection facilities, vehicles and equipment, including both movable and immovable property, to be used to provide fire protection service in the District? Fire Protection District No. 8 Shall Fire Protection District No. 8 of the Parish of Jefferson, State of Louisiana (the “District”) be authorized to renew the levy and collection of a tax not to exceed twenty-five (25) mills on all property subject to taxation in the District for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2021, with the estimated amount reasonably expected to be collected from the levy of the tax for one year being $7,575,848, for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, improving, providing, maintaining or operating the District’s fire protection facilities and equipment? The Jefferson Parish Council will vote on these resolutions at the Jefferson Parish Council meeting to be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, beginning at 10:00 A.M. at 3101 Louisiana Highway 1, Grand Isle, Louisiana 70358 in Grand Isle, Louisiana.
